Choosing the right work equipment is a big part of the working day

Over the course of a couple of years, operations manager Thomas Kristiansen has replaced a traditional tractor/front mower with a Zero Turn from Ariens. 80 acres are to be mowed and there are several factors that came into play when the choice fell on the Apex 48.

As operations manager at Ski Medieval Church, Kråkstad Church and Siggerud Church, it is important that the work is carried out in the best possible way while maintaining the working comfort of employees. Apex has a well-padded seat with armrests that provide increased working comfort for many hours of use. The ability to customize the levers provides a more ergonomic sitting position and less wear and tear on the shoulders and back.

"Sometimes we get new summer temps, and they learn to drive a Zero Turn surprisingly quickly, a couple of test rounds and they're ready to work.”

Another factor that surprises Thomas is the cutting result at high speed. "Apex can achieve a speed of 12.9 km/h and the result is just as good as if we had used a walk-behind mower. In our profession, it's important that the grass is cut at all times and with high speed we will save a lot of time. In a cemetery, there will always be areas that are slightly uneven, and in the past, he has experienced that the mower leaves marks in the grass when it cuts into the soil. Now this is no longer a problem as the cutting deck adapts to the terrain.

"We first bought two Apex 48 mowers and this year we've already bought another one. With so many good features, it will be difficult to find a replacement - it had to be an electric Zero Turn.
